Rama, Mohammad, & Jesus... all apostles of peace- but in combination there could be nothing more explosive!
I read something of this sort in a novel by Vikram Seth, A suitable boy (highly recommended if you have the energy)
But this line is very thought provoking. Peace was the message all of them had in common but when you combine their followers, there is not even a piece of peace.
A few days back, i put it on my status on fb. Even then, a friend could not help protecting her religion. The conversation:
Friend: cant get you ......what are you trying to say....... but all i know... you cant compare.. combine.. yea whatever......Mohammad with anyone else.......
Me: not comparing or combining... just saying kay all three promoted peace but combine their followers n there u get an explosion... religious discrimination... like u urself :P
Friend: hmmmm...... now its making sense..... that line was not making any sense...... and i like it now.....
And so the war continues... but just think... can v call ourselves followers when we can not follow them

There are rules concerning being constructive and rules concerning being destructive. Too many people are obsessed with destruction. They lack sufficient respect for life.
ReplyDeleteSome are destructive in small ways and others actions are more devastating. Maybe it's not their fault, but should they be excused? In my opinion, they hamper progress. For what it's worth, may peace go with your life.....
What really makes me angry is the fact that these people call themselves the real followers
ReplyDeletePerhaps they feel that they do not have enough control over their own destiny.
ReplyDeleteIn the westernised world we could be seen as, at best, puppets, and, at worst, almost slaves. And I am not pointing the finger particularly at government here; this attitude problem can be found where ever you look.
People talk much about freedom while peddling constrictions. If we are not careful the words "modern society" will become commonly used to mean "an unforgiveable mess".
More and more people seem to be disillusioned for whatever reasons and this phenomenon is being, largely, overlooked. We should not keep attempting to paper over the cracks without paying enough attention to the main structure.
People rejoice, almost, in the offer of high interest debt and if you do not look the same as everybody else you may be looked at as a second class citizen.
Suffice to say, I do not like the world we live in. I'll stop here!
Sorry, CB, I wasn't deliberately ignoring your point. Every time I come across the word "angry" I feel I want to make a speech!
ReplyDeleteAs far as your point about "real followers" I confess I do not see them as superior beings which they seem to want to be?
yes maybe angry is a very harsh word but at some places harshness n bitterness comes unbidden...
ReplyDeleteI guess human beings are never happy with anything... not the modernized world and not even the religious phase
I hope you do not think that I was criticising you for being angry; I was not. In mentioning the word "speech" I was referring to my lengthy post!
ReplyDeleteno no im not thinking like that... just thought that maybe angry was a very harsh word... n i dont want to be en extremist
ReplyDeleteNeither do I!
